Data & business systems for small teams
Somewhere in your business there’s a spreadsheet everyone’s afraid to touch.
It holds the orders, or the rota, or the invoicing — and only one person really understands it. We turn spreadsheets like that into small, dependable web apps, and we build the dashboards and automations around them. Nothing oversized, nothing you can’t own outright.
The demos are real, editable apps — click around, break things, nothing to install.
Four ways we make your data earn its keep.
Most engagements start with an audit and grow from there — but each service stands on its own.
Spreadsheet & process audit
Before anything gets rebuilt, we map what the workbook actually does, who touches it, and where it will bite you. You get a written risk report and a costed set of options — even if you never hire us again.
Fixed fee, from £180
Spreadsheet-to-app rebuild
The workbook's job, done properly: validated forms instead of free-typed cells, one shared source of truth instead of six copies on email, and an audit trail of who changed what.
From £850
Reporting & dashboards
The numbers someone re-assembles by hand every month, live on a screen instead — connected to the systems you already run, with drill-down and a scheduled email summary.
From £950
Data cleanup & automation
The copy-paste jobs between systems — exports, re-keying, reconciliations — done by software on a schedule, with validation and an alert when something doesn't add up.
From £450 per workflow
How an engagement runs.
- 1
Audit
We review the workbook and the process around it. You get a written report either way.
- 2
Prototype
A clickable version of your app with your real column names, usually within two weeks. You steer before anything is locked in.
- 3
Build
The app is built in phases — something usable ships at each stage, not one big reveal at the end.
- 4
Deploy
On your server, on a box we manage in your office, or on UK cloud hosting we run. Your data, your choice.
- 5
Support
Optional care plan for updates, backups and small changes — or a full handover so your own team runs it.
Straight prices, published up front.
Every figure below is the same one the estimator uses. No “book a call to find out”.

Discuss this estimateSmall consultancy, deliberately.
We’re a data and business-systems consultancy for companies that run on spreadsheets, email and effort. Our background is in exactly that world: years spent inside operations and finance teams, building the workbooks — and then replacing them with something sturdier when they outgrew the grid.
We stay small on purpose. You deal with the people building your system, estimates come from the person doing the work, and nothing gets handed to an offshore team you’ve never met. The tools we use are boring and proven — relational databases, plain web apps, servers you can point at — because boring is what still works in five years.
Asked every time.
- Our spreadsheet is a mess. Is that a problem?
- It's the normal case. Messy workbooks are usually messy because the business grew around them — that history is useful, and the audit is designed to read it. We've yet to meet a workbook that couldn't be untangled.
- Who owns the finished app?
- You do. Source code, database, and deployment scripts are handed over as standard. There's no licence fee and no lock-in — a care plan is optional, and any competent developer could take over from us.
- Where does our data live?
- Wherever you choose: your own server, a small managed box on your premises, or UK-based cloud hosting we run. Full export of your data is available at any time in any option.
- What if we only want the audit?
- That's a complete engagement in itself. You get the written report and the costed options, and plenty of clients stop there or fix things internally.
- Can our team keep using Excel for some things?
- Yes — and they should. Excel is excellent at one-off analysis. The rebuild targets the workbook being used as a shared database, which is the job spreadsheets are worst at. Every app we build exports clean CSV back to Excel.
- How disruptive is the switchover?
- The app runs alongside the spreadsheet until you're confident, and we migrate your existing data in as part of the build — including the historic rows. Cutover is typically a morning, not a month.
